In what must rank as one aviation’s most fascinating projects, the Solar Impulse was on its way to Hawaii from China but it stopped in Japan after weather problems.  In typical fashion these days, you can watch the whole thing live.

The aircraft has lights all over and is powered by solar energy.  The project is novel and the effort deserves great credit for the technologies being deployed and the ability to draw in millions of people to cheer the effort on.

Aviation wags will no doubt find it funny that here we are again – new technology and we need four engines once again over the Pacific.  The site linked above refreshes continuously.  It is compelling to watch this flight.
