Textron announced this week that the 1,000th Cessna Citation model 560XL has been delivered to a customer in the Northeast and that the aircraft will be managed by Custom Jet Charters, a Part 135 operator located at Westchester County airport.

Since its type certification in April 1998, the 560XL included three different models, the initial Citation Excel, followed by the upgraded XLS, and most recently the XLS+ in this product series. The most recent model, the XLS+, features wide passenger seats, FADEC engine controls, and Collins Pro Line 21 avionics with four LCD cockpit displays that include graphical weather charts and maps. Over the 23 year life of the program, an average of 44 deliveries per year has been maintained, a remarkable record.

The 560XL series is known for propelling the landscape of business aviation forward, delivering speed, spaciousness, and comfort to a new segment of the industry. Its evolution and prominence continue to resonate with customers across the globe. Every two minutes, a 560XL jet takes off or lands somewhere in the world. This milestone delivery is a direct reflection of our customers’ trust and the dedication of our employees who continue to build and support the Citation 560XL family of aircraft,” said Lanny O’Bannion, St. VP of Global Sales and Flight Operations.
