Didier Evrard EVP and Head of A350 program gave the Airbus Innovation Days program update. He explains the complexities of new programs and also shared some of the successes where planning has started to show the results hoped for. Given the amount of issues that need to be orchestrated to ensure a coming together of parts and systems, it would seem the A350 program is certainly running much better than the A380. Clearly Airbus has learned important lessons from not only their own programs, but also that of competitors. That said, Airbus was not ready to define specifically their level of confidence on EIS. As Mr Evrard explained some concerns still exist with the supply chain – and in this Airbus is certainly not unique. Supply chain concerns are an industry concern.
