It was Boeing that withdrew in 2020 from the joint venture with Embraer, but that doesn’t mean that the US airframer is no longer interested in the know-how of the Brazilian aerospace industry. On the contrary. Right in the front garden of Embraer in Sao Jose dos Campos, Boeing opened a new Engineering & Technology Center on Tuesday.
Boeing says the new center is an expansion of the existing Advanced Research & Technology Center that was opened in 2014 and which already employs some 500 engineers. The new one is the fifteenth E&T site around the world and will develop advanced technology for various aerospace applications in civil, defense, and space.
