The game of leapfrog is continuing at the top end of the business jet market, with Bombardier’s Global 7500, the newest competitor, breaking records for range and speed that were previously held by the competing Gulfstream G650. At some point in the future, another aircraft will come along to break these records, which are fleeting, but important marketing tools at the top of the aircraft market. Today, the Global 7500 is king of the hill.
This week, the Global 7500 flew from Van Nuys airport near Los Angeles to Teterboro Airport just outside New York in 3 hours and 54 minutes, resulting in the fastest time for a business jet to fly this route. The aircraft sustained a speed of M0.925 for more than two hours during the trip.
David Coleal, President of Bombardier Business Aircraft, stated “the Global 7500 aircraft is simply the best business jet on the market today. The latest speed record demonstrates once again that the Global 7500 jet is the undisputed leader in in business aviation.”

Having recently obtained an Aviation Week Grand Laureate Award and set an 8,152 nm record-setting flight, the Global 7500, which had the first aircraft delivered last December, is building market momentum, and is sold out for deliveries through 2023.
