India’s DGCA has, at last, updated its airline traffic numbers through the 1Q20. Here is a snapshot of our Indian Domestic Air Travel model. The model is available to subscribers to manipulate.
- On an annualized basis, it looks like the market might be around 122.3m passengers for the year – which is only 13.%% down on last year and will be an achievement if that works out.
- Load factors through the 1Q were quite robust.
- During the 1Q20 Indigo was close to half the market (49%) in flights and over half (52%) in passengers. The Indian domestic air travel market is sewed up between Indigo and Spicejet at 69% of traffic.

Then the data bug got me, making me a curious Avgeek seeking data-driven logic. Also, I appreciate conversations with smart people from whom I learn so much.
