Red Wings Airlines placed a firm order with Ilyushun Finance Company (IFC) for 16 MC-21-300 aircraft, with deliveries scheduled between 2019 and 2022. Four of the aircraft will be powered by Aviadvigatel PD-14 engines and 12 by Pratt and Whitney PW1400G geared turbofan engines.
VIM Airlines also signed a letter of intent with Ilyushin Finance Co. for 15 MC-21-300 aircraft at the MAKS Air Show in Moscow. These aircraft are scheduled for delivery from 2021-2024. VIM has not yet made an engine choice for its order between the PD-14 or PW1400G.
The MC-21 program has 192 firm orders and 88 options, including an order from IFC for 28 firm and 22 options placed in 2011. Â It is not clear as yet whether these are orders placed from the previous order, or additional orders from IFC. Â Nonetheless, with 31 aircraft MC-21 orders from IFC placed today and only 28 firm orders on the books, IFC will be exercising some options to fulfill its commitment.
