At the Russian Zhukovsky test center, the new PD-14 engine has been placed on their IL-78 test bed for flight tests. This is the engine to be used on the IRKUT MC-21. The test bed records 1,066 flight parameters of the engine and its systems.
Here is a closeup of the engine showing off its 1.9M fan. Note the sensors taped to the inlet.
The MC-21 will also offer a version of the P&W GTF (PW1428G & PW1430G).
