Honda Aircraft is introducing the Honda Jet Elite, an upgraded model that offers extended range, noise attenuating engine inlets, a full service galley on board, and upgraded avionics. The new aircraft, with a list price of $5.25 million, has increased range by 17% to 1,437 nm. First deliveries for this upgraded model are expected in August, 2018, and the aircraft is type certificated by both the FAA and EASA.

The interior of the aircraft features an upgraded Garmin 3000 avionics suite, two tone leather seats, a belted lavatory, and a speaker-less in-cabin audio system. Michimasa Fujino, President and CEO of Honda Aircraft, stated that “the HondaJet Elite represents Honda Aircraft’s continued commitment to performance, efficiency and environment, creating new value in business aviation. The result of innovation, design and engineering, our new aircraft features several performance and comfort enhancements that, once again, set a new standard in aviation.”

Redefined aerodynamics and an increased fuel capacity provide the aircraft with additional range. The aircraft has a maximum cruise speed of 422 knots and a maximum cruise altitude of 43,000 feet.

The Bottom Line:

Honda has upgraded its initial model, offering an additional 396 nm of range. With more deliveries than the competing Embraer Phenom 100 in 2017, Honda is upping its game to maintain market leadership in the very light jet sector.
