Today’s Serbia has a long history, for many years part of Yugoslavia, and more recently as an independent nation.  Serbia is a very important place for Russians.  Belgrade is the hub for Russians trying to escape and get into Europe.  In fact, Belgrade has seen a doubling of flights to Moscow to move the surge in traffic.

To explain the long and convoluted history, we spoke with Tango6 founder and editor, Petar Vojinovic who is based in Belgrade. Petar is a journalist covering both military and commercial aviation.  After going through a detailed explanation of the historical context, he goes on to talk about how well Serbia is doing in commercial aviation and travel.

Co-Founder AirInsight. My previous life includes stints at Shell South Africa, CIC Research, and PA Consulting. Got bitten by the aviation bug and ended up an Avgeek. Then the data bug got me, making me a curious Avgeek seeking data-driven logic. Also, I appreciate conversations with smart people from whom I learn so much. Summary: I am very fortunate to work with and converse with great people.
