Rolls-Royce has obtained Transport Canada certification for the Pearl 15 engine that will power the Global 5500 and 6500 model business jets from Bombardier. The Pearl 15 engine are rated at 15,250 lbs, of thrust, and feature 2db lower noise, 7% better fuel consumption, and a 20% improvement in NOx emissions, all while keeping within the same nacelle envelope of the older BR710.
The new Global models from Bombardier are on track of entry into service before year end, and with Transport Canada certification of the engines, Bombardier is now one step closer to entry into service.
The Global 5500 and 6500 models from Bombardier feature the largest cabins in their class as well as the longest range, as well as a smooth ride from a next-generation wing, and a new and more comfortable seat architecture with their innovative Nuage seat. Â
